Go back and get it

What have you given up on?  What dream, aspiration or goal did you decide to let slip away from your consciousness?  You were once so fired up and excited about it and took steps to make it happen.  You drew up a plan, told people about it, dreamed about it, and was on fire for it.  Then the work had to start and it wasn’t as easy as you anticipated.  You thought this was something wonderful, something that would touch lives and change the world or at the very least make you feel good because you accomplished it.  Starting your own business, writing a book, travel the world, learn a new language, make new friends or learn to tap dance.  Whatever it is that you gave up on and is now constantly gnawing in the pit of your stomach, go back and get it.  Whatever you gave up on and now it won’t let you sleep at night, go back and get it.  Whatever it is that drives you crazy whenever you see someone else doing the thing you want to do, go back and get it.  It’s trying to recapture your attention for a reason, it needs you and you need it.  God or whoever your Higher Power is brought you two together for a purpose and it won’t go away until it has been carried out.

Motivational speaker Les Brown said the wealthiest place on earth is the graveyard because people often take their hopes, their dreams, their talents and ideas to the grave with them.  Never giving themselves a chance to share their gifts with the world.  Not believing enough in themselves. That’s unacceptable. What have you left behind?  What talent, gift or idea are you in danger of taking to the grave with you?  What have you let someone talk you out of or what discouraging event happened to make you throw in the towel?  Go back and get it!  You have been given a gift and you’re letting it sit and rot in a box.  Think of it this way, what if you took the time to buy someone you care for a really great gift and they accepted it and never opened it.  How would that make you feel?  How do you think that makes God feel?  Go back back and get it, open it and cannon blast the world with the awesome gift, talent or idea that you were blessed with.  Don’t you dare go to your grave with your hands full.
